- 60ml gin
- 25ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 10ml sugar syrup
- 10 fresh basil leaves
To be true to the original recipe by German, Jorg Meyer, you should place 9 basil leaves (leaving 1 for decoration), the lemon and sugar syrup into a Boston Shaker. Muddle the basil leaves by gently pressing and twisting using a muddler or a wooden spoon. Add the ice and gin. Shake well and then strain into an ice filled tumbler. Garnish with the basil leaf.
We prefer the quick way, recommended by Sipsmith Distillery, which is to place all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker, shake hard and then pour everything into a tumbler.
